Tecumseh boys – Departing Coach Kevin Oxley
LYNNVILLE, Ind. – (Updated 3/19) Coach Oxley has announced his intent to step away after a 29 year career and nearly 350 wins all at Tecumseh. This lifetime coach’s career was highlights by 12 straight Sectional titles and a State championship in 1999. That particular title team also played 4A State Champion North Central right down to the wire in the then Tournament of Champions. Last year’s Braves were 7-14, and simply was without the firepower needed to compete in the 13-team Pocket Athletic Conference. The PAC has become a bit of a struggle for the 1A Braves as the find themselves as easily the smallest school in a conference largely consisting of 3A’s (Think old Big 8 Conference) To even things out a bit, Tecumseh typically schedules 7-8 1A non-conference foes. Coach Oxley’s son, Kreig Oxley is on staff there, played at Kentucky Wesleyan, and is reportedly more than capable by a good Varsity Club member. Teaching jobs available in district, but not currently at Tecumseh. Some are expected.
