Tri-Central boys - Departing Coach Bill Bowen
SHARPSVILLE, Ind. -- (Updated 4/29) Coach Bowen has elected to step down after six years with the Trojans, and a career that spanned 20. Last year Tri-Central was 13-9 and dropped their Sectional opener to Liberty Christian, 83-64. AS far as what Trojans have coming back, a good varsity Club member reports not much. Four of the top five scorers graduate including the top three. Virtually all intererrio play exits as well as experienced ball handling. 6-0 jr-2-b guard Landon Grant (8ppg) is about it for returning letterwinners. 5-10 guard and classmate Colby Wyrick also saw varsity time. Reserve roster, which will likely have to be tapped next season, struggled last year as well. Last season’s middle school squads average at best. Several openings expected, but reportedly only one open now are MS/HS English and Eled. Longtime Tri-Central JV Coach Cam Hindman mentioned as a possible name, but Trojan admin has filled with experienced HC’s from outside the last couple of basketball hires.
