Terre Haute North girls - Departing Coach Matt Millington
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- (Updated 3/23) Now official THN is open. Coach Millington will not be back after one season (14-9) with the Patriots citing family reasons. North girls have been down for some time, and this past season was the first above the Mendoza line in five years. Good Varsity Club member reports new Coach should step into a very solid situation as all but one key contributor should be back. Any look at next year's Patriots has to start with Zoe Stewart. The 5-9 sr-2-b guard is the real deal and is a true difference maker. Her 22 ppg and 6 rpg from the PG positions speaks to that. 6-1 classmate Halie Gilbert also expected back as a tough and experienced post. Both were named all-conference last season as juniors. There are enough holdovers to add to this duo that convince Varsity Club member to be very optimistic in report. Several Sped openings, but more gen ed expected closer to end of school. JV described as competitive, but varsity roster from last year will not need to depend on a ton of contributions.
