Southern Wells girls -- Departing Coach Meghan Slusher
Updated 3/6 – Southern Wells job officially open now as Coach Slusher will not be returning for a third season. The Raiders went and (7-18) and (7-19) during that run. Southern Wells is the only 1A team in the seven Allen County Conference – A conference that consists of 4A Jay County, 3A Heritage, and four other 2A’s. That being said, the Raiders have been a small school area power for a number of years prior to a slight talent dip the last few seasons. Good Varsity Club member reports only one senior is lost from last year’s group, and a strong sr-2-b group has already logged multiple seasons of varsity experience. Arguably the best of that group are second team All-ACAC team members guard Jessica Yencer and forward Jada Johnson. Both logged improving numbers as the year progressed. Varsity Clubber goes on to state that middle school teams have some promising talent coming up. SW also hosts their own four-team holiday tourney between Christmas and New Year’s. No teaching openings yet. Reportedly unnamed assistant a potential front runner.
