South Put boys – Departing Coach Travis Turpen
GREENCASTLE, Ind. – (Updated 5/21) Coach Terpen will not be back after one season at South Put. The Eagles were seriously undermanned and finished just 2-13. Scoring was again the biggest challenge. New coach is likely to face the same issues as much of the varsity graduates. Multi-year starter Eli Smith is about it for experienced returners. The 6-2 sr-2-b guard is reported to be the only kid in school capable of going for double figures. JV was 1-6 in a reduced schedule. Looking down the road, some hope on the horizon. 8th grade described as very solid, 13-1 last year. 7th grade not so much, 3-11. On the plus side, there are a shit-ton of job openings at South Put. MS Science, HS Physical Science, MS Art, HS Business, HS English, MS Math, HS Math, Sped, HS Art 2A Sectional 43 will likely be a bridge too far next year or so: Cloverdale, Riverton Parke, Southmont, North Put, Cascade, and Park Heritage.
