South Decatur girls - Departing Coach Tyler Johnson
LETTS, Ind. -- (Updated 4/26) Can now confirm that Coach Johnson has resigned after two seasons. The Cougars finished 6-16 and most recently 4-17 during that span. A good Varsity Club member familiar with the program reports three seniors graduate that saw regular varsity time. The exciting news, in spite of this, is that the soph-2-b class is very strong - four of whom cut their teeth last year as regulars at the varsity level. A fifth also played some there as well. 5-8 guard Kiley Best went for 10ppg last season and 5-11 post Makalya Summers (7ppg 7rpg) made the greatest impact. One additional report of above average parent involvement.. JV is said to be above average and likely to help. Last year's 8th grade not so much. Eled only at this point, but more openings expected. Current JV/asst Kristen Hicks mentioned as a possible name.
