Washington Catholic girls - (Updated 6/2) Good Varsity Club member reports Coach Noah Carpenter will not be returning after one year with the Cards. WC went 1-17 last year and hasn’t posted a winning mark since 2005. To go a step further, the Cardinals have won only a handful of games the last few seasons. (1-17, 2-18, 2-21, 2-20, 4-17, 5-16) Good Varsity Clubber reports last year’s group only returned 5 ppg, and that obviously played itself out last season. Single digits plague Washington Catholic in more ways than one. Reports indicate single digit players in the entire program. Aside from their one win over Cannelton, a 7-point loss to Rock Creek and a 9-point loss to Medora, every other game was a complete blow out. Basketball folk in the area indicate there is really no indication John Wooden himself could hope for much improvement in the W/L category next go round.
