Martinsville girls – Departing Coach Vince Cerebone
Martinsville, Ind. – (Updated 3/5) Now official that Coach Cerebone will not be returning after 17 years and over 200 wins with the Arties. Martinsville has not had a losing season in eight years. However, next year looks to be a total rebuild. Good Varsity Clubber reports five contributing seniors leave, and virtually all scoring and rebounding go with. One frosh appeared in most varsity games last year, and there are some pieces, but nobody on prospective roster can be expected to go for double digits consistently. That talent level and the Martinsville schedule will likely mean rough going. Good Varsity Clubber also reports JV as simply terrible. If there is light in the tunnel, it’s pretty far away. Very solid eighth grade group reported. Seventh grade decent. Teaching areas unknown at this date. However, good Varsity Club member indicates admin will work with proper candidate’s license to find something.
