Randolph Southern girls – Departing Coach Jerimy Stephan
(Updated 4/10) -- Good Varsity Club member reports Coach Jerimy Stephan contract not being renewed for reasons outside of basketball.. Another Greenfield type situation. Stephan has coached Randolph Southern to 92 Wins, 44 losses, two sectional championships and multiple Mid-Eastern Conference titles. Current athletic director Monte Cowen was quoted, "At this time Randolph Southern felt we needed as change, a fresh start.” Yeah, that winning stuff.. I can see where you would want to go in another direction. Good Varsity Club member reports this one stinks as bad as it appears. All the classic players involved here: playing time parents, admin with an open ear, etc. New coaches take note. Clearly winning not enough at RS. They have not experienced a losing season since 2002. No teaching positions available at this time. Only name reported at this time as a possibility is assistant Coach Terry Comer and that is unconfirmed.
