Perry Meridian boys – Departing Coach Brent Keck
Indianapolis, Ind. – (Updated 3/5) Coach Keck has resigned after eight seasons at Perry. Coach has won over 200 games in a career that has stretched 21 seasons. Undermanned and up against a tough docket, last year’s Flacon squad struggled to just four wins. Only two seniors leave the Falcons this spring. Problem will likely remain the same. Namely generating offense. One issue new Coach will likely not have to deal with is height. The Falcons could have one of the tallest front lines in central Indiana if not the state. 6-7 sr-2-b Dailen Harlen is in the conversation because of the two facts in front of his name. However, good Varsity Club member reports the real strength of this team is farther down the line in 6-9 Jr-2-b Brice Langford and more to the point, a very, very solid frosh class à sophs-2-b. That group includes still more height too. Next year will likely still be a struggle, but these younger groups are on the very tall horizon, and could spell a return to Perry greatness. Also worth mentioning is PM’s move to the Mid-State Conference which will take effect next season.
