Orleans girls –Orleans girls Coach James Ellis recently announced at conference meeting he would be stepping down to take a principal role within the school. They went 12-16 (won sectional and 1-5 in conference. Last year was noteworthy in that Orleans weathered a brutal 10-game losing stretch, but gathered itself to win 6 of it’s last 7 including a rare Sectional title. Coach won 179 games during his 17 years leading the Bulldogs. Good Varsity Club member reports Orleans lost practically all scoring with graduation of Ramsey and Huddleson (over half of their 39 point avg.) and will get little from 8th grade. They won their first sectional in school history this year. Additional problems for them: Their conference had three teams in Paoli, Crawford, and Mitchell that played a lot of you young talent that will be back for 2-3 years and their sectional has Trinity that was mostly Jr's and Sr's as well. They do play in a cool gym.
