INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – (Updated 2/26) Coach Huppenthal is retiring after sixteen seasons (282-86 at HSE. Coach has won over 450 games in a career that has spanned 25 years. The most recent version of the Royals finished 11-7 and 3-4 in the extremely strong Hoosier Crossroads Conference. (State finalist Brownsburg finished 4-3 in conference play.) Varsity Club member indicates that the Royals should be similarly competitive next season as most skill players are expected back. Notable graduation in the post, but underclass potential is there to fill that void. A very strong JV could also provide depth over the next two seasons. No teaching jobs beyond temporary ones at this time, but several are expected at end of the school year. One name with some early speculation is assistant coach Mark Wright.
