Tell City boys – Departing Coach Matt Lynch
TELL CITY, Ind. – (Updated 5/20) Coach Lynch departs to take over the boys program at Charlestown. Coach spent five seasons with the Marksmen, capturing one Sectional. Last season Tell City finished 8-11, and good Varsity Club member reports the cupboard is bare, and by bare, report emphasizes nothing going on but the rent talent wise. Yes, great old gym, but the reality is the Marksmen graduate everything. Only 6-0 sr-2-b guard Keaton Lloyd is expected to return with any quality varsity experience. JV, which is particularly important in cases like this of wholesale graduation, won all of 1 game last season. Pocket Athletic Conference doesn’t give an inch, and 2A Sectional of Crawford County, Eastern, Perry Central, and Paoli (while typically winnable in most seasons) will likely be beyond reach of the Marksmen for the foreseeable seasons. Eled and HS Homebound only jobs at this time. Coach Lynch’s PE/reading Lit position likely will be in play as well. Asst John Lyons mentioned as a possibility
