Richmond boys - (Updated 4/30) Coach Joe Luce departs to accept the Jeffersonville job. Red Devils went 26-4 last season and went undefeated in the North Central Conference. The only player coming back that averaged more than a bucket an outing is 6-3 Sr-2-b swingman Adrion Burns. His 8 ppg and 5 rpg are it for varsity experience. Now Varsity Clubber does point out that JV was a dynamite 20+ game winner, several coming in the blowout variety. However, we’ve all seen terrific JV rosters struggle when pressed into varsity service. Varsity Clubber insists there’s enough there to be competitive and shoot for a .500 season. Will that be good enough to ingratiate a new coach to rabid Red Devil fans? For whatever it’s worth Frosh squad had a losing record. Plenty of job openings expected.
