North Knox boys - Departing Coach Matt Houchin
Bicknell, Ind. -- (Updated 4/9) Matt Houchin has resigned as boys basketball coach at North Knox. Won't be official until next school board meeting on 4/17. Applications will be taken until filled at this point, and can be sent to the Athletic Director Kent Doades, however the job will not officially be posted until the 17th. New coach has some work to do. Returning are Juniors to be Reece Hammelman and Brayden Throne 8ppg and Sophomore to be Holtman Doades approx 8 per game each. Gone is 9 ppg from Keagan Thomas. Also returning is Isaiah Collins and Cole Jones both Jr. to be and saw considerable playing time. Outlook is not all bad, some tools are there to work with from JV(.500) and could have been better if younger kids would have had not had to play on the varsity level as Fresh and Soph. Junior High teams not looking to add a lot for a while, quite a bit of work to do there. New coach will have to revamp entire feeder program which will take a lot of time and energy. One red flag is parental expectations may be higher than achievement will allow on an individual basis.
