Concord girls - Departing Coach Cassie Cepeda
ELKHART, Ind. -- (Updated 3/21) Now official that Coach Cepeda has resigned after seven seasons at Concord. The last three seasons have been lean ones according to a good Varsity Club member. Last season ended at just 5-18 including a first round Sectional blow out. Blow outs were unfortunately the norm last season for the Minutemen, who could manage just about 30ppg. They also finished way off the pace in the NLC. THere were a host of problems with last season’s roster according to the report, but at the core was the inability of anyone to put it in the hole for more than 4ppg. If the program continues as it looks on paper, four seniors depart, but as mentioned earlier, none were difference makers. The obvious negative is that none of the returners are either. Concord finds itself in the precarious position of returning more turnovers per game than points. Report continues that bad news as zero help expected from a ‘terribly bad’ JV team. Maybe some light at the end of a very long tunnel. 8th grade team is a real winner. 7th grade very strong as well. Other grade levels in the feeder system are also successful in their given leagues. Obviously success at the younger levels doesn’t always translate to varsity wins, but given the state of affairs, at least there’s hope on the horizon. HS ELA, MS ELA, HS Math, MS Math, Eled, HS Sped
