West Vigo girls – Departing Coach Ryan Easton
(Updated 3/2) -- Can now confirm West Vigo girls will be opening up. Coach Easton has been named new principal and will be stepping down. Good Varsity Club member reports Vikes losing most of their point production from an already lean 4-17 squad. Not much help on the horizon, but Varsity Clubber does indicate some talent at middle school levels. Word already of a potential front runner in current assistant Jim Noblitt.
Morgan Twp girls – Departing Coach Kevin Krieger
(Updated 3/2) – Coach Krieger is stepping away after ten years leading Morgan. Coach went 129-99 during that span including a great run last campaign. Last year’s 22-4 team was tripped up by non-public Mishawaka Marquette, 43-27 in the Sectional final. Five seniors graduate and all were heavy contributors to last year’s historic season. A real positive for this job is Morgan Twp’s membership on Porter County Conference, one of the more storied small school conferences in the state. Likewise, participation in the 8-team single elimination PCC Tourney in mid-January. Already some suggesting inside names: Beth Garber-JV and Kristi Hunter-Va as possible fills.
