Monroe Central girls – (Updated 8/18) Coach Kirk Comer’s return to Jay County gives the Bears a very late summer opening to fill. MC went 13-13 during Coach Comer’s one season there. However, good Varsity Club member reports this could be a very solid small school gig. Golden Bears lose only 1 senior and just a bucket a game in offense. Leading scorer and rebounder Abi McGrath returns after putting up solid varsity numbers as a frosh last year. Sr-2-b Mikaela McGrath also returns after a very good jr campaign. Good Varsity Club member does report parent issues, but doesn’t indicate if they are any worse than normal. Worth mentioning that four additional players logged significant minutes last year as varsity frosh. Not surprisingly, all teaching jobs are filled at this time of the year
