Monroe Central boys - Departing Coach Justin Ullom
PARKER CITY, Ind. -- (Updated 5/12) Can now confirm MC is officially open. Last season was a great one for the Golden Bears as they went 25-1 and finished Regional runners-up to Carroll Flora. This included a glorious 25 game winning streak that was soaked-up thoroughly by the MC community. Good Varsity Club member reports that of the seven Bears that regularly saw varsity time last season, four get their diploma - including their two leading scorers. An intangible at this time is sr-2-b Josiah Ullom’s plans, as he was one of the three potential holdovers. While a 20+ game winning streak may be out of reach for the returning roster, a winning season is certainly within reach, especially given the Bears’ schedule. Not many head-toppers remain. Height beyond 5-10 world comes in the form of one 6-4 sr-2-b, and an unproven 6-2 soph-2-b. JV roster not expected to provide much help. Varsity Clubber reports both 8th grade and 7th grade teams routinely blown out last season. Stipend is reportedly $7200. Varsity Clubber reports early teaching openings include MS Math, MS English, and HS Journalism.
