Eastern Greene girls - Departing Coach Greg Burton
BLOOMFIELD, Ind. -- (Updated 2/25) The Thunderbirds are coming off a 17-6 campaign that included an undefeated SWIAC (Linton, North Central, Bloomfield, Shakamak, WRV, North Daviess, Clay City) conference championship. Good Varsity Clubber familiar with Eastern reports optimism is off the charts for the coming years. Only two seniors and about 6 ppg depart with Coach Burton. Coach announced via Facebook that he was relieved of his duties and asked to step down. (Reportedly just after Eastern had won conference championship.) Leading scorers and rebounders all expected back from a very deep group of underclassmen that should keep the T-Birds in conference and Sectional contention for the next few years. Average JV, but as mentioned above, most of what would typically make-up reserve roster was logging varsity minutes. HS Dean Position open, but Varsity Clubber unsure if his can be paired with coaching. No teaching positons available at this time, but several at multiple levels expected. Apps deadline 3/23.
