Concord girls – Now official that Coach Dan Ross has resigned after four years at Concord. Coach went 26-64 during that span and 5-18 most recently. Not much going on at Concord in terms of positives. The Minutemen girls program has been stuck for some time in terms of talent. The 4A Elkhart area school finds itself in a Northern Lakes Conference that is pretty much nails, and even with 11 1A, @A, and 3A schools on their schedule, Concord has struggled to be competitive. The gals in green haven’t posted a winning campaign in this century, and they is really nothing to point to that would indicate a change in that pattern. Five seniors graduate from a team that struggled to score just 35 ppg. Decent bright spot in 5-4 Sr-2-b Justyce Warren who, a good Varsity Clubber reports, contributed 10 ppg. 5-6 soph-2-b Chandyn Redmond logged considerable varsity time as a frosh and will likely play a large role in the next three seasons for the Minutemen. She was a serviceable player but was also plagued with freshman turnover numbers. Another Varsity Clubber offered-up that JV is very JV-like and no real help should be expected from that roster that struggled this season as well. Also on good authority that Concord wants to move fast. Apps deadline is reportedly 3/25. But all things being considered, basketball folks that do this for their livelihood are steering clear.
