Madison girls – Coach Rich Bagienski will not be on the sideline for Madison next year after 11 seasons (122-123) with the Cubs. Madison was 11-13 in most recent campaign. Madison continues to struggle in the very competitive Hoosier Hills Conference. The Cubs are the only 3A member of an otherwise stout 4A field of teams. Seven of Madison’s 11 losses this year came via Hoosier Hills Conference games (0-7). Good Varsity Club member indicates that Madison primarily dressed ten girls for varsity and five are departing due to the diploma. Prior to last season, the Cubs had five very solid years, but reports indicate talent pool is a bit on the shallow in right now. Beautiful town, nice school and facilities. Unrealistic expectations for a consistent winner. High School positions reportedly open include: Math, science, Spanish, and Family/Consumer Science. Also a 2nd grade job said to be available too. Two names mentioned for possible interest include Sonja Bowyer and Darren Harmon.
