Lakeland girls - (Updated 4/28) Coach Sheila Moore will not be returning to the Laker sideline next year. Last year Lakeland finished 9-14, and good Varsity Clubber reports six seniors on the way out this May, including leading scorer Abi Thompson. Only about 15 ppg return, over half of that in the form of soph-2-b Taylor Yerington. She also led the team in rebounding last year as a varsity Frosh (7 rpg.) Beyond that, it’s virtually a whole new ballgame. A couple of players earned varsity letters as underclassmen, but provided nothing of substance. A 12-8 JV squad will have to produce bodies to fill up the varsity uniforms next year. Wins will most likely be rare in Laker-land 2015-16.
