FAIRMOUNT, Ind. – (Updated 7/29) Good Varsity Club member reports the Argyll program has been steadily improving the last three years, from three wins, to six, then to eight this past season, despite being short-handed with a number of items not COVID related. However, the 2021-2022 season could be a nice one. 5-11 Senior-to-be wing Azmae Turner (15ppg, 7rpg, 2spg) is the leading returning scorer and rebounder, and she has been in the starting lineup for three years already. 5-5 Junior-to-be point guard Daya Greene (8ppg, 3rpg, 3apg, 3spg), 5-4 Senior-to-be guard Chelsea Bowland (2ppg, 3rpg), and 5-3 Sophomore-to-be guard Maddy Moore (3ppg, 4rpg) have all lettered each year they've been in high school, so the backcourt remains intact and the strength of the team. Four-year letter-winner Zoey Barnett (8ppg, 7rpg, 2spg) did graduate, so that hurts the frontcourt a bit, but 5-11 Senior-to-be post Gracey Fox (4ppg, 4rpg in 2019-2020) is expected back after a year away. Size will be a problem moving forward with no one at or above 6'0, but there are some solid younger guards. The incoming Freshmen class has a couple of girls who could contribute some immediately, and there are a couple of 8th Graders-to-be who have potential. Beyond that, it's typically hit and miss each year. The schedule is not easy, with the likes of Oak Hill, Frankton, and Eastbrook in the conference, Tipton on the schedule and in the Sectional, plus Winchester joining the Sectional now. Administration is reportedly easy to work with and very supportive, regularly in attendance as well, and there's a developing youth program in town.
