Kankakee Valley boys – Departing Coach Nathan Van Duyne
(Updated 4/12) – Now officially open. Coach Van Duyne has gone 32-59 in his four years there, most recently finishing 11-12. Varsity Clubber reports no less than nine(!) seniors graduate – They lose Everything with a capital E. Only two other players were rostered varsity last year, a junior and a soph. They combined for a total of about 4 ppg returning. Seldom does a JV impact the varsity roster as much as this one likely will at KV next year. For the record last year’s curtain raisers reported as below average.. Good Varsity Club member reports former KV head coach (and current North Judson asst) Bill Shepherd isa serious option/semi front runner. Report also goes on to state Shepherd is still a teacher at KV. Fairly typical that entire staff possibly re-set, but KV has listed JV and VA also listed as open. Varsity Clubber indicates an English/Yearbook position at KVHS now...but that’s it. Not sure if any more will be coming. Varsity Clubber indicates this could point to an internal hire.
