Jac-Cen Del girls - Departing Coach Scott Smith
OSGOOD, Ind. -- (Updated 3/24) Coach Smith has resigned after 21 years and nearly 400 wins all with the Eagles. Good Varsity Club member reports J-C-D will likely look outside for their next leader. Last year’s squad was a typically competitive one for the Eagles as they won 19 games and lost an OT heartbreaker to Waldron in Sectional finals. Report details that last year’s roster boasted five seniors and virtually every bit of contribution was scattered across those five. About 16ppg of offense is expected back but only 5-8 jr-2-b guard Reagan Hughes averaged close to even 8ppg. REport does indicate she will be a capable PG, but more will be needed from other returning underclassmen if Jac-Cen-Del hopes to remain a Sectional threat. JV posted a losing season, but a couple of Frosh did contribute heavily. A duo of 5-10’s is about it for height. Middle school teams all took their lumps last season. Eled opening but more expected.
