South Vermillion boys - Departing Coach Phil Leonard
(Updated 4/3) -- Good Varsity Club member confirms that all-around good guy Phil Leonard is out at South Vermillion. Coach went 27-45 during three seasons there. Varsity Clubbber notes that the under-powered Wildcats were competitive in most situations. Report goes on to state 3 seniors depart but less than 10 ppg. Jr-2-b Bryce Mcleish is a player of note. At only 5-5 the PG will return as the leading scorer and ball handler. Average JV reported, but enough returning varsity roster to improve on last year's 9-14 mark. Ft. Wayne South -- Departing Coach Mike Novell
(Updated 4/3) -- Ft. Wayne News-Sentinel is reporting Coach Novell has resigned after seven years with the Archers. Coach has won over 300 games in 30+ year career. Still waiting on some details to come in on this one, but Southside does return a trio of scorers in seniors-2-b Courtney Shorts and Trejean Didier and jr-2-b Mikale Stephenson - all three proven varsity commodities.
