DeKalb boys – Departing Coach Jeremy Rauch
(Updated 7/22) – Jeremy Rauch leaves DeKalb after two seasons to take the Ft. Wayne Snider position. During that time he went 15-8 and most recently 8-15. Feeder teams not so strong right now JV:8-14 Frosh:6-16 8th:6-12 7th:15-3 Varsity Clubber reports 14 3A and 2A schools on the 4A Barons’ schedule. In fact, Varsity Clubber goes on to make the case that DeKalb hasn’t defeated a 4A opponent since January of 2015 – season before last. While this may not bode well for preparing for Sectional, it should keep the Barons competitive in the Win/Loss column even with the current dip in talent. Last year’s 8-15 docket is case in point. Of their 15 losses, only one (65-42 setback to FW North) was by more than 15 points. DeKalb boasts a handful of late summer teaching openings including 5th grade, HS English, and HS Ag.
