LaCrosse boys - Departing Coach Jeff Mitzner
(Updated 3/27) – Coach Jeff Mitzner will not return to the sideline of his alma mater for a fourth season. Coach Mitzner was 18-49 during his three years with the Tigers including a 5-18 docket last go-round. Sr-2-b forward Wes Brust went for about 12 a game last season and will be a leader for certain on a team loaded with a group that played a lot of varsity minutes as sophs last season. Jr-2-b’s Hayden McDougal, Bradley Tucker, Nathan Jones, and Kaleb Frazier logged plenty of varsity time last go round but Varsity Clubber reports not a stat stuffer among them. 6-3 Jaye Mitzner also part of that class but Varsity Clubber unsure of how he will factor in next season now that Father is no longer at the helm.. JV and Frosh squads..not good. On the positive side, LaCrosse does enjoy membership in the absolutely wonderful Porter County Conference and PCC tourney. The PCC is easily the coolest small school conference in northern Indiana and could make the case for best in Indiana from a stability/tradition standpoint. No teaching positions at this time.
