Riverside boys - Departing Coach Kendall Nichols
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - (Updated 5/17) Herron-Riverside High School is a public charter school located in the old Heslar Naval Armory in Indy. They are currently classified as 2A and a member of the Greater Indianapolis Athletic Conference (GIAC). Stipend is $2000. Last season was their second IHSAA tourney, bowing out to Metro in first round, 66-56. The Argonauts finished last season 6-10. Prior to that, the 20-21 Riverside program was 1-4 during a shortened season that ended in early January. They did manage to make it through 2019-20 season, going 4-14 and bowing out of their first IHSAA Sectional tourney experience in the first round to Bethesda. Good Varsity Club member reports cool old building to teach in, but very fluid. Will Herron-Riverside Public Charter School be functioning in 3-5 years? That’s a fair question to ask. Report continues that no fewer than 16 players played at least some varsity last season. Potential good news is that IF players return, there was some underclass talent on last year’s roster. Report again uses the word fluid in describing situation for the incoming Argonauts leader. JV blown out when faced with established IHSAA programs (Indian Creek, Beech Grove, etc.) HS English, HS Math, HS ELL, HS Dean.
