Hebron girls – Departing Coach Doug Godboldt
Hebron, Ind. – (Updated 3/13) Only two true contributing seniors depart from last year’s 16-win squad. However, good Varsity Club member reports they were the biggest part of every Hawk game plan. Losing a player that averages 14 rpg at the high school level is difficult to replace to say the least. Throw is the loss of best ball handler. Not to mention the two departing seniors were also the leading scorers. As bad as returning less than half a team’s offense may sound, a couple of solid seniors-2-be are set to return, and should keep the Hawks competitive as each is capable of going for double digits. Varsity Club report indicates the post is not empty even with graduation losses, but finding quality ball handling will be a test. No help expected from a 5-13 JV that was routinely battered. 8th grade nothing special. Way down the line – 6th grade team was decent last year. Hebron does play in what many consider the gold standard of small school conferences: The Porter County Conference. No teaching jobs at this point.
