Hanover Central girls – Departing Coach Luis Roldan
CEDAR LAKE, Ind. – (Updated 3/7) Hanover is now officially open as Coach Roldan will not return for a seventh year. Last year the Wildcats were 8-12, and a good Varsity Club member reports just about all contributing players are expected back. Jr-2-b guard Gabi Comia and 6-0 sr-2-b post Hailey Vanderhye lead the way for the returners, both chipping in about 8ppg and 7rpg apiece. 5-7 jr-2-b point Skyler Ferry should bring enough experience to hold down first team ball-handling duties – Also pretty solid perimeter defender. JV reportedly below average. However, last year’s 8th grade finished 12-4. 7th was 14-4 and both groups won their conference tourneys. HC has fielded a competitive team for 20+ years, and there is nothing to suggest that is about to change anytime soon. The Wildcats are a member of the Greater South Shore Conference: Calumet, lake Station, River Forest, Noll, Griffith, Illiana Christian, Whiting, and Wheeler. Teaching openings at this time include HS French, HS Spanish, Several general Eled openings, plus Eled PE, Eled Art, and MS Sped. One name suggested: Samantha Roach-Merrillville JV
