Washington Catholic girls – Departing Coach Jimmy Beasley
Washington, Ind. – (Updated 5/30) Can confirm this one is official now. It’s been ten years since the last time the Cardinals have topped the five win mark in a season, and fifteen since they posted a winning docket. Last year’s one point win over Medora was the only W of a very long season for WC. Good Varsity Club member reports Washington Catholic averaged less than 25 ppg last year and were routinely doubled and even tripled-up on the scoreboard. Classic good news, bad news.. Good news is they don’t graduate a single player. Bad news is everyone is coming back. Only 5-8 jr-2-b forward Lindsey Jerger averaged more than 2 buckets a game. Maybe even a bigger struggle is getting the ball across half court against a press the Cards saw every game. Turnovers outnumbers points in most outings last year according to Varsity Clubber, and that will still be a tough hill to climb. No teaching opening known at this time. Closing date 6/14.
