Terre Haute South girls -- Richie Adderly (Interim Closed 6/8) Richie Adderly, South boys' assistant and former ISU player named interim coach. Good Varsity Club member reports the perception in TH is that the Braves have underachieved for years, and with sophomore-to-be standout point guard Amani Brown, they will have a great cornerstone to build around. There were some key losses from this year's team, but other returners include sharp-shooting wing Taylor Pepperworth and post player Gretchen Anne Etling.
Terre Haute South boys - Lewis is the interim coach, and Varsity Clubber stated good money is that he becomes the permanent coach. The chances were always that the hire would come from within; only twice in the last 30 years (since Jim Jones was hired by TH North away from Princeton in the mid-1980s) has a varsity coach in Vigo County come from another corporation. He is not a teacher, but reportedly has a great rapport with the players and is well respected by them. There are red flags, though. Some of the parents/close friends/family members of the team's best players are very hands-on and eye witness accounts saw them frequently sit behind the team bench last year to loudly criticize Coach Ridge's strategies and substitutions. Reportedly nothing was done to stop it. One of those parents was allegedly banned from school corporation grounds for a year when an older son played there a while back. Still, if anyone can get Jaylen Minnett to be a team player and improve De'Avion Washington's overall game to match his unbelievable athletic skills, it's Lewis.
