North Newton girls - (Updated 4/14)[/B] Coach Bob Gonczy will reportedly not be returning to the Spartans' sideline next year. Coach led North Newton to a 24-58 mark the last four years. Most recently the Spartans finished 7-15. Gone is four year starter, Alisha Watts. However, soph-2-b PG Katherine Long will likely be another after a full season of varsity point duties already under her belt. By all accounts, Long is the real deal and will make for solid bedrock for new coach the next three seasons. Good Varsity Clubber also reports more optimism around others in Soph-2-b class that will likely help build. Recent alteration to NN schedule also have helped to make this a more winnable situation year-in-and-year-out. One report indicates admin would like to move quickly to fill asap.
