Evansville North boys - (Updated 4/9) Coach Scott Bunnell has resigned after five years (45-60) leading the Huskies. Coach is 129-95 during a ten year career. North went 8-13 last season in a pretty tough SIAC. Good Varsity Clubber reports Huskies graduate four senior contributors including top scorer and rebounder, in back-courter Robert West. Varsity Clubbers combine to report 5-10 Sr-2-b PG Justice Dixon should be back as a proven varsity commodity at 11 ppg, 6 apg, and 5 rpg. Fellow Sr-2-b DeAtae Stewart is a decent 6-3 forward, and couple of 6-4 underclassmen should be available to fill out a front line. North finds itself in class basketball's no-man's land of being a small 4A. However, schedule includes 13+ games against 3A or smaller foes, and should make for a reachable Mendoza goal each season. New high school is top notch although the new gym lacks the character of the old sunken one. SIAC can be a tough go, but beating arch rival Central is a realistic proposition most years.
