EV Memorial girls – Departing Coach Bruce Dockery
Evansville, Ind. – (Updated 3/5) After 31 years, a 3A State Title, and 502 wins, Coach Dockery has announced his retirement. For the immediate future, the new Tiger coach should inherit four starters from a 15-9 Sectional Runner-up team. Two seniors depart, but only one was a starter (and leading scorer at 14 ppg.) Good Varsity Club member reports plenty of height coming back and a very solid group expected to enroll as frosh next fall. Report goes on to state that Memorial should be in a position to compete for Sectional title again next year. SIAC is tough going as usual. Evansville pretty much divides the city down the middle regarding Mater Dei and Memorial. Memorial drawing those kiddos from the east side and out. Mater Dei to the west. No teaching areas at this time, but potential is there later this spring. One Varsity Club report indicates internal interest but no specific names yet.
