Delta boys – Departing Coach Ryan Vanskyock
(Updated 5/3) – Good Varsity Club member confirms that Delta boys is open, Ryan Vanskyock resigning. Varsity Clubber reports Delta will graduate 10 seniors. Return 6.5 ppg. No seniors next year and only 4 juniors. Varsity Club member relays that parents are crazy there and will do whatever it takes to run the show. Allegedly a lot of parents donate money to the school and are used to getting whatever they want. One set of parents reportedly met with Superintendent 13 times. Allegedly, after a player back talked a coach and the coach told him to go to another school if he wanted to back talk, Coach was told to never tell a kid to leave a district. Sophomore class of parents are very, very vocal and overvalue their kids abilities. Allegedly, Coach was actually told he needs to smile more and that he always looked mad. JV went 11-10. Fantastic AD to work with. Some parents will circumvent that power structure and go straight to supt. Or board. Separate story reported involved another red flag- parent of a player allegedly starts calling other Moms to gossip about how much the Coach hates her kid. Reportedly this was given enough credit that Coach ends up getting called to the carpet to meet over this.
