Covington girls – Departing Coach Jeff McCoy
(Updated 4/20) – Can now confirm Coach Jeff McCoy will not be back for a 6th season with the Trojans. Covington went 55-59 during his time there including a 13-11 run last year. Good Varsity Club member reports this could be an interesting job. No less than ten players logged significant varsity minutes last year, and only one was a senior. The Lone senior did lead the Trojans in both points (13) and rebounds (9,) but several underclassmen gained experience as frosh and sophs. The 2A Trojans have had to deal with Lafayette Central Catholic during their time in 1A and now that they’ve both made their way to 2A, they have shared a Sectional. New Sectionals may change though. Good Varsity Clubber reports HS math and Spanish will likely be open.
