Ft. Wayne, Ind. – (Updated 3/5) Reports indicate that Coach Austin Thoms was asked to resign after two seasons at Concordia. The cadets were 8-17 last season and a combined 11-36 during his time there. For those interested in more details of Coach’s departure, here is link to copy of letter that Coach sent to parents (appeared in News-Sentinel:

What might have done-in last year’s Concordia season may benefit incoming coach. Good Varsity Club member reports zero seniors on last year’s team, so entire roster eligible to return. Report goes on to state nobody expected to blow up the stat sheet, but collectively team does return over 50 points of offense and few teams can say that this time of year. A 2:1 turnover to assist ratio killed the Cadets last season, and report states that while this is likely not to reveres itself, another year of varsity comp should edge it closer to the Mendoza line. Inside interest almost a guarantee reportedly as multiple assistants already teach in the building. Improving last year’s win total likely as is competing in the 3A Sectional. More to come.
