Columbus North boys - (Updated 4/3) Coach Jason Speer has resigned at North. Coach was 115-48 during his seven seasons there. CN finished last year 16-8. North had arguably one of the most unfortunate endings to a season ever with the Feb. 1 accident injuring star Jason Speidel. Interesting dynamic in Columbus in that kids can choose either East or North prior to Frosh season without regard to school district. CN coach will oversee community-based youth program in addition to summer camp. As far as what's left of the Bulldog roster, good Varsity Clubber reports they lose a bunch. Over 60 points of offense is gone from a team that averaged just under 65 a game. There were two players that logged pretty significant varsity minutes, but neither put up numbers worth mentioning. 6-7 Jr-2-b Alex King and 6-1 F Sr-2-b Mitchell Kelley. A 13-10 JV squad does show signs of some help. Frosh JD Harris has shown signs from 3 of being a contributor down the line. JV Coach Brad Branham is a name mentioned as potential candidate, as is fellow asst Chad Swinney
