Clarksville boys - Departing Coach Brian McEwen
CLARKSVILLE, Ind. -- (Updated 4/15) Now official that Coach McEwen’s contract not renewed after seven years with the Generals. Good Varsity Club member reports a bunch of Generals graduate, but leading scorer, 6-1 sr-2-b PG Dakota Capps (18 ppg, 5 apg, and 5 rpg) is expected back. However, before too much time is spent outlining what the situation may be for prospective coaches, it may be much to do about nothing. Word is admin would like to go in the classic, different direction. One could argue that being dedicated to school and community was a pretty good one to be headed in already, but who’s to say? Good Varsity Club member reports that the new direction being referenced allegedly may have something to do with a former assistant coach of current AD. If this writer hears otherwise, I will flesh out more on what is coming up in terms of feeder teams, open teaching positions, etc. However, at this time, this writer is not convinced that would be time well spent.
