Chatard girls - (Updated 4/12) Coach Kevin Sweeney has resigned after 8 years with Chatard. Coach has gone 142-57 at the non-public Indy institution. Last year the Trojans went 19-8 and are coming off back-to-back Regional titles. Good Varsity Club member reports much of the roster that carried Chatard to those Regionals departs, including stud forward Anna Logan. With few exceptions, just about every statistical positive departs by graduation. While deep tourney runs to the Semistate may not be in the immediate future, as you might expect, all is not gloom and doom for the next coach of this parochial power. Good Varsity Club member reports there is enough coming back to content for a Sectional, and there's no reason to think that Chatard will cease being a magnet for talented 8th grade players.. (Chatard hosts an "Open Gym" for all central Indiana girls in grades 6-8. Only costs $25 to be seen and instructed by the coaching staff of the annual Indianapolis City Tourney contenders http://bishopchatardathletics.org/docs/2013/07/GBB-SpringOpenGymFlyer-2015.pdf ) While most of her help will be gone, sr-2-b PG Ashlin Aycock is a very capable. An 18-4 JV that routinely destroyed many opponents should help supply a competitive squad. Chatard also sports one of the larger coaching staffs on the gals' side (9) although not all are paid. Some speculation regarding the interest of JV Coach Nick Wehlege.
