Centerville boys - (Updated 3/11) Coach Ryan Chiddister has resigned after 12 years with the Bulldogs. During that time he went 178-95. The most recent campaign finished 14-9. CHS graduates 4 seniors. Truth be told though, the ones that really hurt are senior post Sam Shaw and senior guard Trevor Miller. The Bulldogs relied very heavily on their contributions last year, and their absence will no doubt really be felt in a big way. Heavy duty will probably fall on the shoulders of 6-0 jr-2-b forward Matt Stamper and Sr's-2-b Justin North (6-2 F) and Ricky Torres (5-9 G). Stamper showed signs of being a varsity leader down the road, but the latter two were role players last go round and good Varsity Club member reports nothing really points to their being able to advance beyond that role. Good Varsity Club member reports VA Coach has been there long-term and is generally credited with being behind Centerville's vaunted zone defense. JV coach is only 23. Neither has expressed an interest from inside. This opening will most likely be a sought after position. Good Varsity Club member reports Centerville as being the highest paid job in the Tri-Eastern Conference. Already word that admin will likely focus on candidate's ability and commitment to fostering a feeder system as talent level is not what it has been.
