Cathedral girls – Departing Coach Reggen Melson
Indianapolis, Ind. – (Updated 3/13) Coach Melson will not be back after two seasons (22-26) with the Irish. Last year’s group went 10-15, but sported just one senior who was not a real contributor. The real lead in this is sr-2-b difference maker, Justis Gordon is expected back to lead next year’s Irish. Good Varsity Club member very familiar with Cathedral program touts her as one of the best to wear an Irish jersey in some time. Total package – stat stuffer starting with her 20 ppg and 8 boards. Soph-2-b frontliner Katie Bremmer also played extensive varsity minutes as did Jr-2-b guard Clara Lee. Lee also noted for her defensive abilities. JV 10-11. Frosh 1-10. Lady Irish Youth League already in place. No teaching positions at this time, but HS Counselor open. Report states Cathedral would like to look outside. Would like big hire and a state presence in basketball.
