Calumet boys - Departing Coach Aaron Mercer
GARY, Ind -- (Updated 5/20) Just for clarity, newest name is Calumet New Tech, but it’s the same Calumet you know. Report states briefly that pretty much everything is now gone in terms of contribution. Five seniors and all they bright to the table is gone. A handful of sr-2-b roll players expected back, but the lone bright spot is 5-8 soph-2-b guard Erick Allen. As a varsity Frosh last season, Allen mixed well with the senior dominated roster. He led the team in assists at 7 a pop, and also went for 12ppg. If he returns, he will likely be the focus of game planning, as he is described as a true difference maker. Graduating three 6-6 front liners is tough to replace, especially with 6-0’s which is all the Warriors have going right now. INo info on JV, but report does state middle school feeder teams are very solid. Greater South Shore Conference includes:Whiting, River Forest, Wheeler, Lake Station Edison, Illiana Christian, Noll, Griffith, and Hanover Central. Varsity Clubber reports JV position open as well., Teaching openings include: HS Science, HS English, HS Business, HS Math, MS Health, MS Art, MS Math, MS Science, and Eled.
