Bloomfield girls (Updated 5/3) – Now official that Coach Chris Hitchcock will not be back next season. Coach led the Cardinals for six seasons, compiling a 64-64 mark. Last season Bloomfield went 11-12. The most promising aspect of this job is that fact that the program graduates zero seniors this May. The Cardinals fall into that rare category of returning all 50 ppg. The strength of this roster rests in above average Sr-2-b class that consists of six varsity contributors. A handful of sophs and frosh also saw varsity experience last go round. Varsity Club member reports sufficient height from a 1A in a couple of 5-10 front liners (Also part of that sr-2-b class.) Also of interest is, what a Varsity Clubber calls, a very special group of 8th graders: Back-to-back SWIAC Conference champions and a team that has won nearly 40 games in two seasons.
