Andrean boys – Departing Coach Brad Stangel
MERRILLVILLE, Ind. – (Updated 5/13) Coach Stangel departs to take over at Hanover Central. Coach had been at Andrean for five seasons including a State Title run in 2019. Last year’s 59’ers were 12-6 and first round Sectional casualties to Bowman. 2A Andrean graduates several seniors, but good Varsity Club member indicates just three were big contributors. Still around 40ppg depart, and those losses will be felt in a major way. 6-5 sr-2-b Gabe Gillespie is expected back and his 16ppg and 7rpg are a great start, but Varsity Clubber reports proven backcourt play and other front line help are all needs. Not a ton on this one yet. HS Art is it so far as teaching goes.
