Saw this score on Harrell's site this morning and was surprised. I taught and coached at Paoli back in the dark ages and still know several folks there so I kind of keep tabs on their sports programs. I knew they were having a good year this year so I assumed this was an upset.
Then I checked on Henryville and realized I was mistaken. I did not know anything about them but see that they are now 21-3. Even more impressive, they lost the first three this season and are on a 21-game winning streak.
Did anyone on the board happen to see the game ? I would assume that it was a good game and a great atmosphere. I'm sure a game like this will bring out the advocates for seeding in full force, but for my money, it's part of what makes high school basketball in Indiana great. You have to beat the best, and you never know until the draw comes out when you're going to get them.
Back in the days of single class there was no better place to be sectional week than Paoli. Always an even field, fierce rivalries, and a packed gym. The very definition of Hoosier Hysteria. Every game was a dogfight.
