Woodmen to join newly formed Hoosier Legends Conference 2026-27 school year.
This is being reported as a potential move, but through the grapevine I can tell you this is all but a done deal. It's especially difficult due to the Woodies being one of three founding members (1942) still part of the MSC - Mooresville and Plainfield the others.
Community members have been invited to an open forum scheduled for next week to seek input, but for anyone involved in education these sorts of 'listening' events are generally for appearance sake only.
Hoosier Legends Conference will initially include just six teams: Indian Creek, Beech Grove, Monrovia, Speedway, Triton Central and Tri-West. However, Greenwood would make seven and HLC goal of an ideal 8 eventually.
Also hearing Southport departing Conference Indiana to take Gwood's sport in MSC.
